Its a privilege to be able to hold events on such a fantastic venue and the club would like to thank our host Mr Nick Aubrey for his generosity.
The clubs main sponsor AK GUNDOG ACCESSORIES LTD provided packs of their excellent products for our winners. Thanks to Karen and Adrian for their continued support..

Our selfless helpers on the day that make it all possible Neil Whittaker, Lee-Ann Whittaker, Mark Palmer, Michael Nelson, Steve Burns, Cath Burns, Ves Kirby, Martin Quinn, Louise Ann Collier, Andy Hall, Nigel McIlroy.

Great advert for our club yesterday .

Stunning venue, loads of grounds, great location, loads of parking space, superb weather.
Diverse challenging but achievable tests. Friendly but efficient judges who were happy to judge and not take over the day.
Lots of willing helpers who selflessly gave up their time.
Well organised (hopefully) started on time finished on time, no major holdups despite 2 x 2 dog and 1 x 4 dog run offs.
Delicious food for judges and all helpers and nice gifts and trophies to keep.
Good number of entries for all classes.
The PTA committee works hard behind the scenes sourcing venues, contacting landowners, processing entries, collecting subs, printing cards ,setting tests, attending meetings, providing buffets, adding up scores, sorting trophies, providing grounds, storing equipment, organising merchandise, being available to help etc etc.
When people support the club with entries, winning our trophies, attending our training classes, progressing in the sport becoming a better more successful club in all aspects it makes it worthwhile for all your hardworking committee.
Well done to all involved yesterday participants and committee members if you are a member and not joining in you are missing out on some great events.

Puppy, Novice Dog/Novice Handler, Novice, Veteran Working Tests for A.V. Retrievers – Sunday 16th March 2025 – Aston by Sutton

“The first test of the season was held today and was a great success for Pennine. The venue was Aston Hall nr Runcorn by kind permission of Andrew Talbot & Graham McPherson.
We couldn’t have picked a better day as the weather was perfect, lovely Blue skies and a bit of sunshine. Everyone was raring to go after it being such a seemingly long Winter, and due to great organisation by our Chief Steward, Gary Collier and the rest of our wonderful committee, the dogs were sent out on time, at 9.30am.
The judges had their work cut out but managed to get through 70 dogs and we can’t thank them enough for giving up their valuable time. So a big thank you to Phil Goulden, Chris Kettle, Roz Mcilroy and Mark Palmer.
Thanks also to our wonderful sponsors Adrian & Karen Blackledge at “AK Gundog Accessories Ltd” who provided winners with a dummy pack.
Clubs cannot run without helpers and they certainly come out in force for us, and we are so grateful. So thank you very much to Matt Wilson, Dan Wilson, Steve Burns, Nigel Mcilroy, Nicky Waddington, Kim Dutton, Daniel Forge, Neil Whittaker, Karis Bakewell, Peter Thompson, Cath Burns.
As always thank you to Christine Thompson for the fabulous food and for looking after base camp and to Julie Hunter and Kim Howlett for selling raffle tickets and generally helping out where needed.
Thanks also goes to Matt Wilson and Andy Hall for sorting out our lovely new merchandise with Andy taking the orders today – he’s our very own “Del Boy”.
