By kind permission of: Mr Keagan and Gamekeeper Mr McNutt
Judges: Wayne Mitchell, Paul Hasney, Michael Nelson and Peter Thompson
Chief Steward: Gary Collier

A very successful day was had by Pennine today at our “Open Walked Up” on the Ashlack Hall Estate in Grizebeck Cumbria, and I think we can be very proud of our club, as we all pulled together and put on a marvellous event, which was kindly sponsored by CSJ Dog foods. Even though it was very hot the dogs coped well and were kept as cool as possible with plenty of water to drink, with many wearing cooling jackets and even wet towels.

The scenery was stunning and the ground was just amazing. There’s a lot of thank you’s to be given for today, starting off with a massive thanks to Richard Sanderson (who also walked in line) for securing the ground for us, which was by kind permission of Landowner Mr Keagan and Gamekeeper Mr McNutt. Thank you to our judges:- Wayne Mitchell, Paul Hasney, Michael Nelson and Peter Thompson who gave up their valuable time to judge the dogs for us, and they did a brilliant job. Also thanks to our Steward of the Beat, John Lupton, who kept the line in order and liaised with throwers Mark Palmer, William Dewhurst, Martyn Platt and Peter McCurrie, who all threw splendidly. Also thanks to our dummy carriers in-line, Neil Whittaker, Kim Howlett, Laila Curtis-Noonan and Sandy Childs, who also did a fab job. A special thanks and well done to Lee-Ann Whittaker who did the dog stewarding – she did a great job for her very first time. Last but certainly not least, thank you to Gary Collier for taking on the role of Chief Steward, to Christine Thompson for looking after base camp, organising an amazing buffet and sorting the raffle etc, and to Julie Hunter for sorting out judges and helpers gifts and selling raffle tickets etc., Also, again, many thanks to Richard Sanderson for giving our winner a beautiful engraved commemorative bottle box.
