They\u00a0are\u00a0categorised as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Field Trials<\/li>\n<li>Matches &#8211;\u00a0against other clubs<\/li>\n<li>Other &#8211; memorable dates, for example\u00a0the Club&#8217;s\u00a0Annual General Meeting<\/li>\n<li>Training days and evenings<\/li>\n<li>Working Tests<br \/>\nAll PTA members must also be members of the NGRA. Non-members may run in PTA Working Tests but are not entitled to receive trophies. Our preferred method of entry is via the FTMS (website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftms.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.ftms.uk<\/a>). Paper entry forms are available from the club website \u2013 penninetrainingarea.org.uk or from our Pennine Training Area facebook group page in files. Directions for tests will be posted a few days prior to the event on our group page, and also will be on the FTMS. Members \u00a310.00, non members \u00a315.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Definition of classes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Puppy: <\/strong>Any Dog under 18 months of age on the day of the test<\/p>\n<p><strong>Novice Dog\/Novice Handler: <\/strong>Handlers and dogs of any age not having gained any working test (1<sup>st<\/sup> to 3<sup>rd<\/sup>) or any FT award. (NB update December 2025 &#8211; You will be no longer allowed to enter a NDNH test if either handler or dog has ANY awards in a Classified test or a field trial &#8211; puppy, novice or open, or come 1st in a NDNH).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Novice Dog: <\/strong>Dog never having won a 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> or 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place award in an Open working test or 1<sup>st<\/sup> place in any other working test. Puppy tests excepted. Or any award in a Field Trial or COM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open: <\/strong>\u00a0Open to all breeds of retriever<\/p>\n<p><strong>Veteran:<\/strong> Any dog 8 years or over on the date of the test<\/p>\n<p>Tests are run under Kennel Club Gundog Rules and Regulations. No competing dogs to be run over the course except at the request of the judges. Bitches in season MUST NOT\u00a0 be brought to venues please.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please look at our Pennine facebook group page before setting off for any of our events, as sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control, arrangements can change at the last minute or events can be cancelled.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>PDF versions of the current PTA Working Test Schedule and full Events Programme are distributed to members annually with the yearly Membership Pack. If for example you wish\u00a0to view a list of all\u00a0training events\u00a0&#8211; type &#8216;train&#8217;, &#8216;training&#8217;, or &#8216;tr&#8217; (for example)\u00a0into the &#8216;Search&#8217;\u00a0section and click on the &#8216;Find Events&#8217; button. This will find all training days and training evenings.\u00a0If you click on the &#8216;Events In&#8217; section (in the top left corner) a calendar drop down menu will give you the option of searching a particular date or month &#8211; again then click on &#8216;Find Events&#8217;.
