“Today was Pennines 5th and final test of the 2025 season, and what a fabulous day it was. The early morning rain soon turned into sunshine, and the weather stayed dry for the rest of the day.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
As it was our last test, we decided to put food on for everyone and most competitors brought something, especially an abundance of cakes which were very gratefully recieved, along with lots of lovely raffle prizes. Mick Kay brought a big tin of his \u201cfamous\u201d home made Fudge, which is absolutely delicious and always goes down well, as does Julie Flewitts Lemon Drizzle Cake Julie also made an extra one for the raffle, which was won by her husband Bob.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
We have such a lot of thank you\u2019s to give, so I\u2019ll start by thanking Geoff Saint for very kindly allowing us to use his wonderful training ground. We just love it there.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“A fabulous day was had by all at our 4th test of the season yesterday. Thanks very much to Mandy Berrisford for her kind permission of allowing us to hold our tests on her superb Gundog Training facility at Red Hall Farm near Betley, Crewe.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed brilliant sunshine for most of the day. Our Training Co-Ordinator, Gary Collier, set the challenging, well thought out tests and spent the day walking round the tests, ensuring that everything was going smoothly. Thanks Gary , you always do an amazing job.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Our other Chief Steward was Andy Hall who did a brilliant job with his welcoming speeches and the prize giving, at the end, which he delivered both eloquently and humorously Andy, you\u2019ve got the job for ever more now. Well done.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Pennine held their 3rd test of the season today on the Graythwaite Estate in Cumbria, by very kind permission of Matt Wilson of Westmorland Gundogs<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It was an Open Walk Up for AV Retrievers and was run on FT lines. We couldn\u2019t have asked for better weather – it was lovely sunshine with a nice gentle breeze. The ground and scenery is quite spectacular and it was an honour to run our dogs there.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Well organised (hopefully) started on time finished on time, no major holdups despite 2 x 2 dog and 1 x 4 dog run offs.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
Delicious food for judges and all helpers and nice gifts and trophies to keep.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
Good number of entries for all classes.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
The PTA committee works hard behind the scenes sourcing venues, contacting landowners, processing entries, collecting subs, printing cards ,setting tests, attending meetings, providing buffets, adding up scores, sorting trophies, providing grounds, storing equipment, organising merchandise, being available to help etc etc.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
When people support the club with entries, winning our trophies, attending our training classes, progressing in the sport becoming a better more successful club in all aspects it makes it worthwhile for all your hardworking committee.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n

“The first test of the season was held today and was a great success for Pennine. The venue was Aston Hall nr Runcorn by kind permission of Andrew Talbot & Graham McPherson.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We couldn\u2019t have picked a better day as the weather was perfect, lovely Blue skies and a bit of sunshine. Everyone was raring to go after it being such a seemingly long Winter, and due to great organisation by our Chief Steward, Gary Collier<\/span><\/span><\/span> and the rest of our wonderful committee, the dogs were sent out on time, at 9.30am.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The judges had their work cut out but managed to get through 70 dogs and we can\u2019t thank them enough for giving up their valuable time. So a big thank you to Phil Goulden, Chris Kettle, Roz Mcilroy<\/span><\/span><\/span> and Mark Palmer<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
